ABOUT US

Solution for Health International abbreviated as “SFHI” is a young youth led Non-Governmental Organizational (NGO) registered in Kenya in the year 2016 under the regulation of NGO Coordination Board of Kenya. The decision to initiate Solution for Health International was motivated by a personal commitment by the founder to effectively address the growing health risks aggravated by high levels of illiteracy. The organization aims to improve access to health services for the poor through promoting community health and wholeness by supporting and advancing good health, wellness education and disease prevention leading to having better healthcare in the region.

OUR PROGRAMS

FUKUZA FUNZA
This is an initiative to free affected pastoralist’s population in Marsabit County from the burden of jigger infestations to increase performance of children in school, greater community participation in the democratic process, increased economic activity resulting from better health as more time is no longer wasted removing jiggers, reductions in the spread of HIV/AIDS and related diseases and greater involvement in social life of their community resulting from greater acceptance by other members of the community.
Community Outreaches Program
This is a initiative aimed to promote health by empowering children as health agents and also to making youth and children agents of reconciliation. A departure from tradition in Northern Kenya where participation in peace efforts is largely a reserve for older men who have legitimate authority when dealing with conflicts, war and peace. We engage youth in soccer tournaments, Marathons, Peace dialogues and participate in school clubs debating on ways they can live harmoniously.

Elimisha Dada.
This initiative involves interactive education session where girls get to learn menstrual cycle and hygiene. The project aims to reach all vulnerable girls who miss school during their periods in Marsabit County simply because they can’t afford the pads. Without pads also increases their likelihood of being sick. It is an initiative that can help the vulnerable girls stay in school through out the semester hence improved academic performance, better health and increased opportunities in their future.
Power of Trees
Trees are invaluable assets to our communities. They give us flowers, fall colors, and lovely scents. They provide homes for birds, squirrels, butterflies, and other wildlife. Their branches create beautiful shapes that soften the landscape. They shade and cool our streets and buildings and insulate our homes from cold winds. Power of Trees is an education programme for schools which aims to support teachers and schools to inspire the new generations about the local and global importance of trees and forests

It has always been my dream of to see the poor have access to health services and this can only be achieved when we as a global community invest in health and advocating access to health as a right.
With your support and that of other donors like yourselves Solution for Health International has given hope to the voiceless and disenfranchised people living in Northern Kenya. Life is a daily struggle for survival for those who live in poverty and through the work of Solution for Health International we provide effective, sustainable and long term health solutions that empower human beings to live in dignity with respect.
We have a lot to do as a Nation and our charity will continue to collaborate with partners in a joint effort to continue reaching out ensuring better healthcare for all.

Legal Counsel

We are looking for a highly qualified Legal Counsel to oversee the legal aspects of our business. You will safeguard our reputation by guaranteeing that the company strictly follows law guidelines and give legal advice to management about all relevant issues.

The successful candidate will effectively ensure legal conformity and minimize probability of exposure.

Requirements

Proven experience as a legal counsel in business environment
Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation
Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies
High degree of professional ethics and integrity
Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information
BSc degree in Law or J.D. degree

Responsibilities

Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (labor law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance etc.)
Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance
Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advise on possible legal issues
Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust
Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights
Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces
Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization
Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation
